Ceona’s Approach to Teacher Training
Ceona Benjamin Peter Salve believes effective teacher training starts with understanding context – the specific curriculum, learner profile, and institutional goals of each school or organization she works with. Rather than offering generic professional development, she builds sessions around real classroom challenges, drawing on her own experience across IB, Cambridge, and Common Core settings to make training immediately applicable.
This approach has shaped Ceona Benjamin Salve’s work with international schools, language institutes, and EdTech companies looking to strengthen their teaching teams. Her sessions typically combine:
- Observation-based coaching, rooted in her background as an IH Director of Studies
- Materials development support, informed by her Distinction in Materials Development from her PG Diploma
- Assessment literacy training, tailored to Cambridge, IB, and Common Core benchmarks
- Ongoing mentorship rather than one-off workshops, where schedules allow
Ceona Benjamin Salve’s teacher training has directly supported programs across more than 100 US institutions and organizations spanning South America, Mexico, India, Russia, and Canada – with a particular focus on schools navigating multilingual or CLIL contexts, where language and subject-content teaching intersect.
Ceona’s own path through 15+ international certifications, each completed rather than simply taught, informs how she designs training: she builds courses the way she would have wanted to take them herself, with clear rubrics, worked examples, and realistic timeframes for working teachers balancing full teaching loads alongside professional development.
